  1. One wonders whether Kyoto was worth it. Perhaps it’s the most we could do, and something is better than nothing. However it’s also a very good example of how governments can subvert the good intentions of all the advisors, NGOs etc that contributed, whilst at the same time congratulating themselves. By the time climate change is serious enough to affect the outcomes of elections it will be too late to do anything about it, unfortunately

    • Incredible as it may seem now, China, India and Brazil are not even subject to Kyoto (and a host of key Western economies have refused participation), so the conference’s final agreement pertains only to 15% of total carbon dioxide emissions.
