  1. Everything has repercussions and once physical force is used it’s very difficult to moderate it. The military have regained power and crushed a lot of dissent, but will now need to continue to crush dissent. That will be expensive and will massively hamper Egypt’s development.

    • Indeed. It’s a terrible long-term strategy. It’s almost as if they don’t believe in themselves anymore and are just trying to maximise their gains while they can.
